3 Day Diet

Will we ever run out of reasons to lose that extra bit of weight in a hurry? I suspect not - life's just like that, is it? There's always going to be something around the corner that we didn't expect or prepare for.

If it's not the wedding we get invited to at short notice, it'll be a class reunion or one of our ever more frequent vacation breaks. Not that I'm complaining, I like an excuse to get into better shape.

Naturally, we want to look our best for every such occasion, especially if there's the chance we'll bump into someone we haven't seen for some time, or even worse someone we've taken a fancy to! One way to help us lose that bit of extra weight is the 3 day diet. This plan promises quick weight loss in only three days.

Of course, quick weight loss sounds like a great idea to us, but it's not what we'd call recommended by most of our doctors. Many nutritionists argue that the 3 day diet only leads to short term or temporary weight reduction, not real weight loss at all, and that those of us who follow the 3 day diet will only find the weight creeping back on in just a few weeks.

However, let's not be hasty. We should consider the purpose of the 3 day diet before abandoning the eating plan altogether.

If you have, say, 10 pounds to lose in three days for a specific occasion, then this diet plan might be just the thing for you. Of course, if you want permanent weight loss and an eating plan that you can follow for the rest of your life, then the 3 day diet is definitely not the answer.

Although the diet plan is pretty restrictive and requires significant amounts of will power, it's important that anyone following the 3 day diet should stay on it for no more than three days. This is another reason why the plan is better for anyone who wants to slim down quickly for a special occasion rather than someone looking for a long-term diet plan. Also, people who follow the 3 day diet more than once should always come off the diet for at least two days before starting over again. It's important to remember that a 3 day diet is not much better than a starvation diet. Take a look below at a typical 3 day diet.

Let's be realistic about this, just about every woman has experienced the need to drop a dress size or two before a special event. Maybe it's that little black dress hanging in the back of the closet that you haven't been able to get into for a few years. The 3 day diet can be a great way to get you back into shape and back into that dress in just a few days.

Maybe you're starting a long-term weight loss plan and you just need a jump start. Sometimes losing a little weight quickly can give us the motivation to get ourselves on a proper diet and exercise plan. I've certainly found that weight reduction at the beginning of a long term weight loss plan makes sure that I have the motivation to stay with it.

Even though the 3 day diet has many critics, it's important to remember reasons behind it. This is not a long term diet or weight loss plan and it definitely is not a way of life. But, if you are looking to drop a few pounds quickly or if you just need motivation to get yourself into diet mode, consider the 3 day diet as a start.
